EVGA: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC GAMING with 4GB GDDR5, Directx 12

Flawless Entry Into 4K For Work

Wow, where to begin. When one of my two 1920x1200 displays died I decided to ditch dual-displays and go 4K. The computer I used to do my side work (little to no games at all) I had a 640GT to drive the two monitors for coding, office apps, PM software, DBA work. Obviously a 640GT would not do what I wanted, so I shopped around and ended up buying the GTX1050 Ti.

I went back and forth for a while on whether to buy a 1050Ti or 1060 and ended up going with the 1050 Ti + a 40" Samsung. I used the reference drivers off of Nvidia's site rather than EVGA's drivers. Beautiful results. Just for giggles I tried running an older car racing game at full 4K and I had ZERO issues. Watched some uncompressed 1080 content off of a local drive without any issues. Streamed some short 4K content off of Youtube... perfect again.

Just some points:
- No additional power required... just drop it into a PCIE 3 slot.
- It is more quiet and slightly smaller than the single-fan 640GT I was running.
- Get yourself an Amazon HDMI cable that is 2.0+ compliant.

Now I am wondering whether I should replace the GTX680 in my gaming machine. Maybe next year!
